June 6, 2015 – The Hot Rod Power Tour officially kicks off today in Madison, WI.
June 4, 2015 – The AMX debuts at the Kenosha History Center Event. We even met one of the AMC plant’s former workers! Here she is in the driver’s seat.
May 31, 2015 – We’re gearing up for the Hot Rod Power Tour so it’s putting overtime in to get this beauty ready!
May 26, 2015 – The AMX arrives at Cool Hand Customs, the shop of our Build Liaison Amy Fitzgerald and her husband EJ, in Wisconsin.
May 24, 2015 – The engine is installed!
May 23, 2015 – We have ignition!
May 22, 2015 – We visited Keith Dorton of Automotive Specialists and they were working on our engine. It’s nearing completion and we can’t wait!
May 21, 2015 – We have officially departed our first build location just outside of Tampa, FL at the shop of High Performance Advisors. We have safely arrived in North Carolina where we will stay for a few days. The AMX will be buffed out by our Paint and Body Lead, JoAnn Bortles, while we also visit with Keith Dorton and his team at Automotive Specialists where they are finishing up the engine.
May 16, 2015 – Students Shayla and Maurisa were sponsored by their high school, Columbiana County Career and Technical Center in Ohio, to travel and participate in the build. We were impressed by their commitment to learning and gaining experience. We know that they will go on to great careers in the automotive industry.
May 12, 2015 – Wiring, wiring, more wiring and some shocks too!
May 7, 2015 – We have been working on fitting the Vintage Air air conditioning unit under the dash. This is a retro fit so adjustments have been made, but it fits well. We have also been working on getting the Painless Performance wiring harness installed and en route to re-wiring the the AMX.
April 21, 2015 – It was all about cleaning today. All of the parts that were taken off the car that will need to go back on were cleaned either by grinding, media blasting or just some old fashion elbow grease scrubbing. The rear end was dropped and was cleaned as well.
April 20, 2015 – Mother-Daughter Day! Project Leads Karen Salvaggio and Susan Carpenter are joined by their daughters on this build day.

March 31, 2015 – More body work is completed on the AMX.
March 30, 2015 – The body work begins on the AMX.
March 29, 2015 – The AMX rolls out and make its short travel to Roberts Collision Center.
March 28, 2015 – Julia Johnson helps work on removing the AMX interior, while Susan poses with Nan Gelhard and Christina – project leads who are there in “picture”.
March 22, 2015 – Unloading the engine with Keith Dorton and the Automotive Specialists team in Concord, NC.
March 20, 2015 – The engine is ready to be loaded for its transport to North Carolina.
March 19, 2015 – The final preparations enable the AMX engine to be removed.
March 18, 2015 – Karen and Susan prep for engine removal.
